In case you didn't know, the East Coast got a few inches of snow yesterday. You know what that means....treadmill runs. Boo.
Tuesday I had 4.5 miles on the agenda. I tried, I really did, but I just wasn't feeling this run. My legs were still sore from this weekend's workouts and I just couldn't find my stride.
I even turned on some music that was sure to pump me up.
Haha. Don't judge me.
After 3.5 miles I called it a day. Better luck next time. I was in my sweats and on the couch watching Sex and the City within 15 minutes.
The motivation today was a bit better. I had a 40 minute tempo run on the training plan.
This was the first song that came on......it was a good sign. :-)
I started at 6.5 mph and went up to 7.6, then came back down. 4.6 miles in 40 minutes. 8:41 pace.
During my run, 2 teenage boys came to the door. When I opened it, and they saw me dripping in sweat, they both looked at me like I was crazy and took a step back. I think they practically ran away.
I guess I did look a little rough.....they should have read my shirt and realized the sweat dripping off my forehead and chin wasn't nasty, it was just me being awesome.
A quick lunch came together right after.
Turkey and avocado, veggies and sweet potatoes. I'm trying to up my carbs these days and see if I feel a difference in my running.
Butter Lemon Whole Wheat Noodles, baked chicken, and a spinach salad.
I think dinner helped me hit my quota.
When was your last "blah" run?
Do you make an effort to eat more carbohydrates? If so, do you feel a difference?
What's your current favorite song to run to?
I've had some amazing workouts this week! i can't wait to see you and tell you all about them!
ReplyDeleteI'm so proud of you, girl! I can't wait to see you!
DeleteLove the tshirt! It *is* liquid awesome! =p
ReplyDeleteI managed a solid 5-mile run before the snow hit and then yoga later that day once the snow was falling. Today was an off day and tomorrow may be since I have a poetry reading tomorrow night and there's no way I'm getting up early to run outside in single digit weather!!
Thanks! My twin got it for me:-)
DeleteGood luck tonight! I'm so sorry I can't make it. I know you're going to do great!
Haha the last thing I need to consciously do is try to eat more carbs. Yesterday was a blah run for sure, I got massive cramping 2.5 miles in and I spent the last 2 miles running much slower and focusing on breathing but every time they went away, they came back 2 minutes later :(
ReplyDeletestomach cramping? That is THE WORST! I'm sure they will get better!
DeleteHaha I've never seen that shirt! I love it! I've had blah runs all week because I have bronchitis... so running has caused me to feel like I'm dying. I might go to the gym today to just do some light cardio just so I don't feel like a slob. I eat lots of carbs because veggies are full of them and I'm vegetarian :)
ReplyDeleteYou need to take a break if you have bronchitis, crazy pants!
DeleteI am talking more solid carbs, like bread, cereal, sweet potatoes, whole wheat pasta, etc. The good stuff:-)
Are you kidding me?! One of the joys of running for me is eating carbs and not feeling guilty about it! Btw, I meant to comment on your last post that there is no such thing as too much avocado...it's a power food, so eat it up. Did u know avocados provide more potassium than a banana? As do sweet potatoes. There's your science lesson for the day.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know that either of those provided potassium. They are both delicious though! I am trying to aim for 60% of my diet to be carbs. For my long run this weekend, I'm making pancakes:-)
DeletePS: I've nominated you for a Liebster Award - congrats! You can check out my blog to learn about the details. :-)
DeleteThanks, girl! I've been so busy this week, but I'll check it out tonight.
